Best places to visit in Dhaka and around Dhaka
Today I will tell you where the people of Dhaka roam. In Dhaka, there isn’t much space for roaming, so whenever we see some green, we take a walk. As there are fewer sightseeing places in Dhaka, I am mentioning some places around Dhaka here. I don’t know about your taste in traveling but I can bet on my choice. So let’s know about the places:
1. Hatirjheel:
Back in 2009, Hatirjheel was just a slum area but now Hatirjheel is one of the most aesthetic sides in Dhaka. Back then this area was restructured to reduce traffic jams in Dhaka. Basically, it is a water body over which many bridges are made to reduce the traffic jams of Dhaka city. But the reconstruction work turned out to be a great work of a master, Who made this area way more beautiful than ever before. In today’s time, you can also enjoy boat riding there.
2. Lalbhag Fort:
An incomplete work from the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb’s son now gives pleasure to Dhaka’s people as an attractive structure. This attractive incomplete fort is set beside the bank of the river Buriganga. Lalbhag Fort has three major structures (the mosque, the tomb, and the Diwan-i-Aam). You can guess it now this incomplete fort has a rich history of Mughals. So, You must visit this incomplete Mughal-style fort during your stay in Dhaka.
3. Ahsan Manzil:
Another finest works of the Mughals is located just beside the river Buriganga in the Kumartoli area. It is a two-storied palace. Presently this palace is utilized as a museum. But before that, it was the staying place of Dhaka’s Nawabs. Before that, the palace holds a big history of Mugal, how it became an Ahsan Manzil from just a garden house of Mughal Zamindar Sheikh Enayetullah. Just because this property stands beside the river, French traders buy it from the Mughals. But later Mughals buy it again. And today’s Dhaka started from here. How many things have happened around this one building, can be thought. So, this place is worthy enough to visit.
4. Sadar ghat:
The largest port in Dhaka. It is always crowded and busy and you can’t imagine how crowded and busy it will be in Eid festivals. You can also witness many people get in or down a launch in the middle of the river by boat. Yes, it is risky but who cares? In addition, the water around it is way too much polluted. After all of these Dhaka’s people love this place and love to spend time around it.
5. Mawa:
The place where the people of Dhaka eat hilsa fish. If we want to eat hilsa, we come to Mawa at night. Then we buy hilsa fish as we like and let the hotel cook it (they make 2 or 3 items with the hilsa) and sit quietly at the hotel. After a while, when they put the fried hilsa fish in front of us, we wasted no time and devoured it very quickly and satisfy our souls. Then the whole night, I came back home in the morning. Then walk all night at Mawa Ghat and return home in the morning. Exactly for this reason you have to come to Mawa.
6. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park:
The only safari park in my country is settled up just outside of Dhaka in Gazipur. 47 different species of wild animals roam there including the royal animal Royal Bengal Tiger.
