Tanguar Haor
Beautiful, aesthetics, pleasing, attractive, charming, pretty, lovely, alluring, delightful, stunning, gorgeous, graceful, magnificent, and seductive. What word is perfectly suited for the Tanguar Haor? I think if there is a word that is made from all of these words, it is the word that suits Tanguar Haor. In monsoon time, all the surroundings are filled with water, but the Tanguar Haor is filled with beauty. Even we call it the heavenly kingdom of Haor. Tanguar Haor means huge sky and huge wetlands, Tanguar Haor means air is full of purity, Tanguar Haor means to enjoy life on a houseboat, Tanguar Haor means enjoying song from little boys, Tanguar Haor means views of Meghalaya hills, Tanguar Haor means discover Lakmachora, Tanguar Haor means witnessing the most beautiful Niladri Lake, Tanguar Haor means wandering in Shimul Garden, Tanguar Haor means seeing the most beautiful Jadukata River, Tanguar Haor means food and food, and Tanguar Haor means absolute nature. My buddy, if there is torrential rain then it is “O My God” place. About Tanguar Haor, it is an Ecologically Critical Area and a Ramsar site, lies over 120 square kilometers of land, half of the year it is totally flooded by water, and the rest of the year you know what happens. In winter it becomes a great habitat location for migratory birds. Overall Tanguar Haor is a Shakib Al Hasan, I mean all-rounder. Tanguar Haor satisfies tourists, protects the ecosystem, maintains biodiversity, and directly provides livelihood to around 50000 people.
Location:
Sunamganj District, Sylhet Division, Bangladesh.
How to reach Tanguar Haor:
My friend, if you wanna enjoy the Tanguar Haor, book a houseboat first. As far as I know, these houseboats service almost covers everything; staying, food, fully roaming the Haor, and taking many spots. The setting of houseboats is cozy and the hospitality they give to tourists is totally good. And I am pretty sure, there is no other way to enjoy the Tanguar Haor apart from houseboats. To book a houseboat for Tanguar Haor, the “Resortbd” website is best, also there are other websites online. After booking a houseboat, you only need to set foot on Sunamganj in time. After setting foot on Sunamganj, contact your houseboat owner. Either they will come to pick you up or give you instructions on where to come to get in the houseboat. Normally the houseboat anchors on Shaheb Bari Ferry Ghat, Mallikpur Ghat, and Anowarpur Ghat.
Now it is about how to go to Sunamganj:
Sylhet City features Osmani International Airport. Foreign tourists can come directly to Sylhet, and then they can take a bus to Sunamganj. I highly suggest you choose “Niladri AC Bus Service.”
By road is the best way to come to Sunamganj for Bangladeshi. There are many direct bus services from Dhaka to Sunamganj.
There is another way to go Sunamganj. If tourists have no other way, then can use that way. By train come to Sylhet first, then take a local bus to come to Sunamganj.
Features of Tanguar Haor:
2nd largest Haor in Bangladesh and from there the mountains of Meghalaya can be clearly seen. So the absolute nature is there to welcome tourists.
Activity as a tourist:
- Enjoy the nightlife on the Houseboat.
- Enjoy food and food and food.
- Hunt every spot. In my recent tour of Tanguar Haor, I visit Tanguar Haor Watch Tower, Tekerghat, Barek Tila, Jadukata River, Shimul Garden, Nilardi Lake, Lakma Chara, Lala Ghat. A little brief introduction of every spot:
1. Tanguar Haor Watch Tower: This is the place where your houseboat first goes. In that place tourists swim in the Haor, roam around in a little boat, and enjoy singing from boat boy, enjoying the vast view of Tanguar Haor from the watch tower.
2. Nilardi Lake: Now you thinking, I am already in a vast waterbody, so why do I witness another one? We all love to eat dessert after a big meal. Just like that Nilardi Lake is a dessert. And definitely, you will be mesmerized by its appearance.
3. Jadhukata River: After the Sangu River, I like the Jadukata River. Each view of this river is equal to tranquility. In the Tanguar Haor visit, the Jadhukata River is the tourist’s favorite place after the Haor.
4. Lakma chara: It is a normal place where nature is in good shape. So it’s normal that tourists get attracted by it. The funny thing is that the place has been known in recent times, from 4-5 years ago.
5. Shimul Garden: All the trees in this garden are so accurately set up. From any angle you see, you will find the trees lined up. To be honest, this garden is for winter when the red Shimul flowers bloom. All over the garden will turn red and look awesome to see.
6. Barek Tila: Located Between Bangladesh and India. A fine place to see the Jadhukata River and the Khasia hills of Meghalaya.
Best time to visit: Monsoon, monsoon, monsoon, and Monsoon.
