Sundarban Tour
Brother, you have traveled all over Bangladesh and have not visited the Sundarbans yet. If my words are true, then let me make you addicted to Sundarbans. Do you know what “Sundar” and “Ban” mean in Bangla? “Sundar” means pretty and “Ban” means jungle, So Sundarban means pretty jungle. Yes, Sundarbans is truly a beautiful forest. It is one of the wonderful creations of Earth. Sundarbans is the world’s largest mangrove forest. Seeing the beauty of this forest and several of its features, on 6 December 1997, UNESCO declared this forest a World Heritage Site. A World Heritage site is a place or area that enriches biodiversity, has a significant history, and greatly impacts our environment. Being a zoology student, I can confidently tell you that Sundarbans have more biodiversity than all other forests in Bangladesh. In total, 453 species of animals ruled the Sundarbans. And the royal cat Bengal Tiger is the ultimate ruler (king) of the forest. Also, the Sundarbans work as a natural safeguard. From the past to now, it has protected us from so many Cyclones. The entire forest is surrounded by innumerable canals. Without these canals, it is impossible to enter the Sundarbans. If you had a bird’s eye view of this Sundarbans then you would understand how beautiful the forest is! You can see it with a drone if you have one. In the past, people didn’t give much attention to this Sundarbans. But now things are totally the opposite, now people are eagerly waiting for holidays just to visit this Sundarbans. Even many foreign tourists come to Bangladesh just because of the Sundarbans and its Royal Bengal Tiger.
Location:
Sadly Sundarbans shares its land area with two countries; Obviously, one country is Bangladesh and the other one is India. But we have a larger part (66 %) than India(34%). I am happy with this fact. Sundarbans capture 6,517 square kilometers of land in the southwest side of my country, making an ultimate shield for the coastal area from the Bay of Bengal. More simply put, Sundarbans is located in the Khulna Division of Bangladesh.
How to go Sundarban:
Many tour operators plan Sundarbans trips by ship, such as two-day &one-night, three-day & two-night, etc. from Dhaka, Khulna, and Mongla. All you need to do is book one of the packages and come to their selective place to hop on the ship you reserved. It is the best way, let me correct my sentence, it is the ultimate way to explore the Sundarbans. And Khulna is the best place to start your Journey, according to me. After booking the ship, You don’t have to stress about your accommodation, food and drink, or travel to every place mentioned in the package. They will arrange and handle everything, your job is just to discover Sundarbans. The two times I visited Sundarbans, I went this way. Both times, I found it very comfortable. But I was unlucky to see the Royal Bengal Tiger. I just saw its footprints.

Features of Sundarbans:
1. Dead silence: Every tourist asks for the stillness of nature to find peace of mind. On that, Sundarbans delivered it 10 on 10.
2. Fear of the jungle: As you already found out, this forest is very dense, and the Royal Bengal Tiger lives here. So while walking through any trail inside this forest you will have a fear of tigers and a fear of getting lost in the deep forest. And it is an awesome feeling for anyone.
3. The Royal Bengal Tiger: In Sundarbans, Everyone desires to watch the majestic animal Royal Bengal Tiger. Chances are very low too, yet if you are lucky one, who knows?
4. Wild Animals: Even if you don’t see the tiger, don’t take it TO heart. Other forest animals like Chitra deer, Maya deer, monkey, crocodile, wild boar, etc. will entertain you. And The chirping of forest birds is there to enchant you.
5. Plants: Since Sundarbans is a mangrove forest, the vegetation of this forest is also completely different from the vegetation of normal forests. Come and see by yourself how different it is. I can say one thing, the trees of Sundarbans are very interesting.
Activity:
1. Canal cruising: Explore the mystery of narrow narrow canals of Sundarbans with a small boat.
2. Trails: Harbaria, Kotka, Karamjal and many other spots offer walking trails in the Sundarbans. In your visit, don’t miss any of them. One of the best travel feelings in your life, you can have from these trails.
Timing:
November to February, because around that time the Bay of Bengal becomes so calm, and the movement of wild animals is frequent. As Sundarbans becomes so lively around that time. Also around that time, all the tour operators are available.
Note:
Always follow the lead of your guide, don’t do anything by yourself. After all, it is Sundarban, one of the deadliest forests on Earth. And one more thing, Please don’t throw any waste into the forest.
Did I get you addicted to the Sundarbans? If not, then no problem. At least I gave some effort to make you addicted to the Sundarbans. That is more than enough for me. I sincerely want more people to come to Sundarbans and know about Sundarbans. Because Sundarbans is our pride.
