Tourist places in Chittagong

Tourist places in Chittagong

Chittagong is the busiest and most important region of my country. I want to address it as a Microcondia. In Biology, Microcondia is a powerhouse of Cells. Similarly, Chittagong is a powerhouse of Bangladesh. Largest seaport (handles 90% of international trade), export & Import Center, economic zones, shipbuilding industry, textile & garments factories, and culture & historical significance. So, Chittagong is backing my country’s development on a great scale. As well as this district backs our travel and tourism sectors. So the powerhouse district is also a paradise for travelers and natural lovers. Tourists will get a complete traveling taste from tourist places in Chittagong; sea, lakes, mountains, waterfalls, eco-parks, adventure trekking trails, islands, etc it features tourists to satisfy their travel hunt. So, my friend, get your bag ready and I am preparing a list for you. Okay? That’s a deal.

Hill

There is no one in the world who is not fascinated by hills. There’s a saying that’s often said in my group: ‘If you need peace, go to the hills. Hills heal everything except death.

1. Chandranath Hill

The Chandarnath Hill is the Mount Everest of the Chittagong district; its height is 310 metres. As well as it is also a holy place and pilgrimage for Hindu religious people. There is a story about a king of Nepal who is ordered to build 5 temples in a dream, and he builds all the temples. Two of them are located in Bangladesh; one is at the top of Chandranath Hill, and the other one is built in Maheshkhali. There is also a history that Ramachandra came here with his wife Sita during his exile. Chandarnath Hill was named after the Chandrantah temple, and Hindu religious people believe this hill is beautiful because of its holy purpose. We are travel enthusiasts; we should hunt the beauty of Chandranath Hill.

Sea Beach

There are many beautiful beaches in Chittagong to enjoy the sea. The most notable sea beaches among them are:

2. Guliakhali Sea Beach

Guliakhali Sea Beach is one of the best tourist places in Chittagong because of its unique appearance. Its beach is like a huge green carpet with numerous tiny internal connecting canals and scattered mangrove trees. At high tide, those tiny canals fill up with seawater, making it an aesthetically charming beach of my country. It is just 5 km long, but its beauty has no limit. There was a time when I was worried about the beach that our govt hadn’t done anything to protect this unique beach. On 10 January 2022, I got relief; this beach was declared a reserved area for travel and tourism.

3. Patenga Sea Beach

Patenga is distinguished from other sandy beaches by its rocky embankments, which serve to prevent erosion along the shore. Visitors now frequently sit on these concrete blocks to take in the roaring surf, particularly after sunset. The sea off this shore is full of ships. Tourists enjoy the sea’s many ships, which resemble exquisite paintings. In recent years, the government has made significant efforts to modernise and beautify Patenga.

4. Bashbaria Sea Beach

Bashbaria Sea Beach is another fantastic location in Chittagong to enjoy the sea. Tourists visit this extremely ordinary seashore, sit on the sand, and enjoy the sound of the waves while taking in the fierce wind. One of the attractions of this beach is an iron bridge that goes far into the sea.

Trail

It’s not bad to spend some time trekking in the mountains, waterfalls and nature on vacation. There are countless trails in the Mirsarai and Sitakunda areas of Chittagong that tourists can complete the trekking on in a day and return home if they want. Some of them are:

Attraction: Khoiyachora waterfall
Trail hardness: Easy
Trail type: Dirt road, stream path, hill

Khoiyachora waterfall is one of the most visited waterfalls in Chittagong district. It attracts tourists because of its unique existence in nature. This waterfall has descended step by step from a huge, peaceful mountain. Many people have called it the queen of waterfalls because of its beauty. It is as beautiful as the queen, but if you are a little careless, this queen can take your life. In the past years, many tourists have lost their lives after falling from the waterfall due to their carelessness.

9. Melkhum trail

It is my favourite trail among tourist places in Chittagong.

Attraction: Canyon & Khum
Trail hardness: Moderate
Trail type: Dirt road, stream path, khum, canyon
time: 4-5 hour

A huge long canyon with water at the bottom all year round, turning the bottom into a swamp. Sometimes you swim, sometimes you cross the water up to your neck, sometimes up to your knees, and sometimes you climb the mountain wall like a Spiderman.

10. Boro Komaldoho trail

                 5. Pathorvanga waterfall
Trail hardness: easy

                 3. Sorpopopat waterfall

In the past, the forest here was home to many deer. When the deer would go to the spring to drink water, hunters would hunt them. From this history, this trail is named Harinmara Trail. [horin= deer]

                 3. shiv temple
                 4. Nameless many waterfalls
Trail hardness: moderate
Trail type: Brick path, stream path, Rocky path, jungle
Time: 3-4 hour

The main attraction of this trail is its temples. And these temples stand there for ages and are totally covered by green. There is a surprise in the Agnikund temple.

14. Boalai trail

                 2. Lotkan waterfall

Lake

16. Mohamaya Lake

Mohamaya Lake is a piece of heaven in Chittagong’s Mirsarai, where you will find the sweet union between mountains & fresh water. Here you can see the beautiful curves around the mountain, and there is a real joy in camping overnight on the shores of this lake to take a break from the busy life. Enjoy the mountains and vast expanses of water more and more by kayaking or boating on the water. The greatest kayaking experience in Bangladesh is available to tourists at Mohamaya Lake. Also, around this lake, you will find a fountain, a khum way, and a place like a cave (not an actual cave). For sure these things will give you a thrilling vibe. The surrounding view of this lake is just mesmerising, and the most interesting fact is that Mohamaya Lake is man-made.

17. Bhatiari Lake and surrounding

There is an area about 20 minutes away from Chittagong City that tourists will surely love. I am talking about the Bhatiari area, where there is a soothing lake surrounded by hills and greenery. Here, tourists can enjoy boating, paddle boating, kayaking, fishing, bird watching, and mountainous nature, along with those activities. There is a sunset point next to Bhatiari Lake, featuring amazing sunset views to enjoy. One more thing: there is a park named Cafe 24 that is also the biggest attraction of Bhatiari.

18. Foy's Lake

Three things about Foy’s Lake are good. First, it is situated in the city of Chittagong, to start. Second, it is not only a lake; it also features an amusement park. Third, it features resorts for a stay but is very costly. In my opinion, tourists should enjoy the amusement park first. When they get tired, rent a boat and explore the entire lake. Ignore the resorts; it’s a little bit high-cost to stay unless you are rich.

Island

19. Sandwip Island

An island is always beautiful; the same goes for Sandwip Island. But Sandwip Island looks more like a typical rural part of Bangladesh than an island. The majority of people on the island are farmers & fishermen, and they lead a very simple life in the natural landscape. My friend Naim went there, but I haven’t had the opportunity to go yet. He says it is not only the best in Chittagong but also in Bangladesh for camping. Every year a huge number of travel enthusiasts camp here because of the simple nature, and simplicity is another version of pure beauty and admiration. Also for sweets, Sandwip Island is known.

Other attractions of Chittagong

20. University of Chittagong

I didn’t add it for study purposes. I added it to the list because it is the most beautiful university I have ever seen. Probably it is the most beautiful university in Bangladesh. During my university admission time, I happened to visit there. Many students from Bangladesh dream of getting admitted here because of its natural appearance, including me. Unfortunately, I failed to get admitted there, but I didn’t miss the chance to explore it. So now, I want all of you to visit the university if you are visiting Chattogram. Not being able to be admitted into Chittagong University isn’t entirely unfortunate. Otherwise, I would never have become the founder of Huntinginworldbeauty.
