It is really located at deep parts of Rangamati’s forest, like the land beauty adores it so much that protects it deep care. It become visible to people in 2000 when local people following a Buddhist monk and the monk was meditation under the water of the waterfall. Gradually travel enthusiasts explore it by help of locals and lost their heart seeing it’s captivating existence. Now, it has became the known waterfall in Rangamati after the Shuvolong Waterfall. How it looks

Dhuppani Waterfall looks so graceful, surrounded by lush green forest. Its water cascades down from a cliff approximately 150 feet high. If the water level in the waterfall is high, then the water of the waterfall looks milky white when it falls down. Based on this, this waterfall is named, “Dhup” = milky white color and “pani” = water. Also, when the water hits the rocky walls and hard surface below, it creates mist and ripples. The rock layers behind it form natural steps, giving the waterfall a dramatic backdrop. In this rocky layers, there is a unique feature that every travel enthusiasts will love it. A cave type structure which is more than enough to give anyone adventurous feeling. Water accumulates over a large area under the waterfall, it seems like nature is arranging a swimming pool for us.

It is hidden in a place called Orachhari, Farua Union, Belaichari Upazila, Rangamati District. As I already said, it located at deep parts of Rangamati.

How to go

To see Dhuppani waterfall, travel enthusiasts must first come to Kaptai and there will be no problem as Kaptai is well connected by road.

Kaptai jetty ghat is 5 minutes away from Kaptai, from this ghat travel enthusiasts have to rent a boat(rent a boat for an entire trip) to reach Belaichari upazila. It takes 2-2.5 hours to go, don’t worry, no one won’t get bored at all on the boat trip, they will be enchanted by the beauty of Kaptai Lake. Travelers have to bring at least 3 photocopies of NID card or Birth certificate for verification purpose. Without verification Bangladesh Army won’t let anyone enter Belaichari, verification also ensure your safety.

Then from Belaichari travelers will have to take the boat again to Uluchhari, it will take 1.5 hours. From Uluchhari travelers will have to take a small boat(rent) and go further inside along a narrow canal, before going inside, travelers must take a guide from Uluchhari. travelers will not be able to cross the hilly jungle path ahead without a local guide. It will take 2-3 hours to cross this path by trekking with a guide, and the path is incredibly beautiful. Once you cross this incredibly beautiful path, you will see Dhuppai Para (a tribal village). Dhuppani waterfall is 10-15 minutes away from this village, if you pay attention, you will hear the sound of its water falling from the village.

It is really hard to explore Dhuppani waterfall in a day and return home. usually travelers at least take two days to explore and enjoy the waterfall fully.

2 days perfect travel plan

Depart at night from wherever you are staying and reach Kaptai by morning. Have breakfast in Kaptai, you will get a good meal for 100 BDT per person. Then rent a boat from Kaptai Jetty Ghat for 2 days, the fare will be between 7000-9000 BDT.

1st day

Depart by boat to Belaichari, it will take 2-2.5 hours to go. During this time, you will enjoy the beauty of Kaptai Lake and of course, you will have to do some verification work at the army camp in between. Upon reaching Belaichari, rent a resort or hotel for 1 day, in this case it is better to book a resort or hotel in advance. Otherwise, you can face great danger with your stay. A good quality room in Belaichari will not cost more than 1200-1500 BDT.

After freshening up at the hotel or resort, have a light meal from Belaichari bazar and take water and some dry food for trekking and set off by boat. Before setting off, definitely order lunch at a good restaurant in Belaichari. This time the destination is Bangalkata, here are two more beautiful waterfalls of Rangamati; Muppochhara and Na Kata waterfall. It will take 20 minutes to reach Bangalkata, you will have to arrange a guide first after reaching Bangalkata, the guide will charge 500-600 BDT.

Bangalkata

You will visit two waterfalls with a guide, if you want to relieve the fatigue of the whole day’s travel, you can take a bath in any one. You can visit 2 waterfalls and come back to Bangalkata in 2-3 hours. Then you will take a boat again and return to Belaichari. Then you will finish the first day by visiting the Belaichari area after lunch. Eat your food early at night and sleep because you will have to trek through the mountain jungle for 5-6 hours for Dhuppani waterfall.

2nd day

At night, tell the restaurant owner to pack your breakfast. Wake up in the morning, freshen up, board the boat. Now, you will travel towards Uluchhari and have breakfast on the boat.

After reaching Uluchhari, hire a guide, it will cost 1000 BDT to hire a guide in Uluchhari. After hiring a guide, you will have to move forward along the canal in a small boat, the small boat will cost around 100-150 BDT.

Trekking will start after crossing the boat path, the trekking path from Uluchhari to Dhuppani Para is incredibly beautiful. It will take 3 hours to trek this incredibly beautiful path, and from Dhuppani Para, you will reach Dhuppani waterfall in just 10-15 minutes of walking. After exploring Dhuppani waterfall, regain your strength by having a light meal in Dhuppani para. During the travel season, food stalls are set up in this village for tourists and travelers.

After regaining your strength, return to Uluchhari along the same route. Then take the boat back to Kaptai directly. Then have dinner in Kaptai and board the bus to return home.

Note: Don’t think to travel solo to explore the Dhuppani watefall. First of all, You are going deep into the mountainous area. And secondly, the travel costs here will be much higher for you alone. you can complete this trip with a group of at least 7-8 people, then your safety will be ensured and the travel cost per person will be much reduce.
