Mohamaya Lake
Mohamaya Lake is an excellent beauty of the Chittagong District that provides thrills, joy, and a pleasing experience all at the same time. The vastness of great beauty where the lake and hilly-type forest come together like friends and its single glance is enough to make tourists fall for it. An even more amazing thing is it is the second-biggest man-made lake in my country which is 11 sq. km. Man-made means Due to human activities, just as the Kaptai Lake formed when humans were trying to build a dam. Exactly the same story goes with Mohamaya Lake and even their fate is exactly the same. Nature accepts them even though they are man-made and presents them to the world so charmingly that tourists like them very much. Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWBD) is in charge of maintaining the lake and I feel BWBD needs to do more for the lake, after all the lake is one of the great tourist spots in Chittagong and is known for its panoramic views.

It will feel like a piece of green heaven is standing on the water in front of you and the turquoise-blue water makes the feeling even more refreshing. As long as you stay here, Mohamaya Lake will leave a lasting impression on you with its lush greenery.
How to go to Mohamaya Lake
Mohamaya Lake is a slice of beauty at Mirsorai in Chittagong District and the finest way to go to Mirsorai is by road. From Dhaka, take any bus to Chittagong and get down at Thakur Dighi Bazar, Mirsarai. From anywhere tourists have to get down at Thakur Dighi Bazar, if they come by road. From the Bazar, Mohamya park is 2 km away. Tourists will find there local transportation vehicle called CNG (Three wheeler) to go there, per person 15 BDT and full reserve 75 BDT.
By any chance you are train lover, so I’m letting you to know that you can also ride train to come Mirsorai. Take any train from Dhaka to Chittagong and get off at Feni or Chittagong. If you get off at Feni then heading to Mohipal bus stand to catch another ride to Thakur Dighi Bazar, Mirsarai, this time you have to bear a short bus journey. The Method is same, If you also get off at Chittagong City. If you choose train to come, then I suggest to get off at Feni. It takes a short time to reach Mirsarai from Feni.
Activity
1. Kayaking: This lake is famous for Kayaking and it seems to me that kayaking became famous in my country just because of this lake, tourists can enjoy nature to their heart’s content by kayaking along the winding path between the green hills. So it is not only the best tourist place in Chittagong but also the best in all of Bangladesh for kayaking.
2. Boating: Boating is the only way to hunt down the entire beauty of the Mohamaya Lake. So, don’t say no to boating and rent a boat as a group, it will save you money.
3. Waterfall: In this lake, there is a waterfall known as Mohamaya waterfall. But it seems to me more like a stream than a waterfall that comes down through the hills. It’s so tiny but it looks so gorgeous in its surroundings. So, while boating on this lake, tell your boatman to take you there. Kayaking, boating, and seeing the Mohamaya waterfall is the joy.

4. A khum-type area: A khum is a narrow water channel that is shielded by hills on both sides. In this lake, there is a khum-type area which is very unknown to tourists. According to Huntingworlbeauty, December to February. During this time, the lake looks so stunning, the weather becomes cool and comfortable for roaming, and tourists can do everything I mentioned above.

Mohamaya Lake and the eco-park can be explored completely in a day, even after exploring the lake tourists will have much more time at their hand. If tourists really want to stay, then tourists have two options. Either they camp by the lake or go to sitakunda to find a appropriate hotel to stay. Camping by the Mohamaya lake is only available for male tourists and have to book in advance. Best part of camping there is everything will arranged by the lake tour operators. If my friends, you want comfort and your trip ask more days, then you have to come Sitakunda for good hotel. The best quality hotels for tourists between Mirsarai and Sitakunda upazilas are found in the Sitakunda Bazar and its surronding.
There is no good food facility inside the park, the authorities have done a very good job. Bengalis are the kind of people who throw garbage everywhere, If there was a food facility inside the park, the park would have looked like a garbage place rather than an eco-park. However, for a good meal tourists depends on Thakur Dighi Bazar or the food Restaurants at the entrance of the park.
Road Map of Day trip
I planned this road map with a relaxed tour in mind, you guys can count on me. If you leave for Thakur Dighi Bazar, Mirsarai at night, you will reach there by 7-8 am. Anyway, you have to be at Thakur Dighi Bazar between 7-8 am, have breakfast from the bazar and leave for Mohamaya Lake. Take 2-4 hours to explore the park and the lake, do something or not, definitely do kayaking
Then head back to Thakur Dighi Bazar. You can rent a CNG and go to Khoiyachora Waterfall after eating lunch here, if you would like. The cost per person is 25–30 BDT. One of Chittagong’s most exquisite waterfalls, Khoiyachora Waterfall, is visually soothing. Along with soothing the eyes, its cool water will also soothe the body’s travel fatigue. In recent past, a few tourists lost their life at the waterfall because of their careless. Khoiyachora Waterfall is both spectacular and dangerous since it cascades down from the mountain in multiple steps. Due to carelessness, tourists slip and fall from the upper steps of the waterfall to the lower steps, resulting in serious injuries and sometimes death. So, my friends don’t get over excited at the waterfall..
Before the afternoon, you will leave Khaiyachhora waterfall for Sitakunda Bazar, you will have to travel 20-22 kilometers. In this case, CNG will cost 300-400 BDT. After getting down at Sitakunda Bazzar, you will take another CNG and come back to Gulikhali Sea Beach, the beach rental from Sitakunda Bazar will cost 15-20 BDT per person. You will have your afternoon breakfast at Gulikhali Sea Beach and end the day by seeing its beauty. After exploring the last location of the day, you will return to Sitakunda Bazzar, here you will visit the local market before dinner. After dinner, you will catch a bus back home from Sitakunda Bus Stand.
