Sreemangal tourist spot

Sreemangal is a beautiful part of the Sylhet Division, known as the “Kingdom of Tea”. Sreemangal is proclaimed the “Tea Capital of Bangladesh” because it is home to up to 90% of the country’s tea gardens. Tourists normally visit Sreemangal to explore tea gardens and tourists are quite happy to watch tea gardens. Every tea garden setup is so adoring that every tourist is lost in its adores. My friend Sreemangal also offers some beautiful and adventurous places. If you have had enough of visiting tea gardens and have time, you can visit these places. In other words, I want to tell my travel buddies that Sreemant has more places to explore except tea gardens. To enhance their travel experience in Sreemangal, they should visit every Sreemangal tourist spot.
1. Tea Gardens
Brother brother don’t be angry, just scroll down the page. See, there are other spots besides tea gardens. Can I continue now? As Sreemangal is our Tea capital, so we should start our traveling with tea gardens in Sreemangal. Nurjhan Tea Estate, Jerin Tea Estate, and Mr. Khan Tea Estate are my favorite tea gardens. Among them, Mr. Khan Tea Estate is famous among tourists for Darjeeling Tila. Buddy, you can add these tea estates to your bucket list of tea gardens.

2. Lawachara National Park
Lawachara National Park takes 20-30 minutes to reach from Sreemangal city. A good place to take a walk along nature; 160+ different types of plants, 28 different types of Amphibias, 50 different types of reptiles, 200+ different types of birds, and 45 different types of mammal species. In the past, big animals like elephants also lived here. It is sad but still, it delivers its natural charm to the tourists. A railway path goes through the park which gives tourists another aspect to enjoy the park. Numerous Bangla movie scenes were shot here, even an Oscar-winning Hollywood movie ” Around the World in Eighty Days” was shot here. My friends, you also can interact with the Khasi community people there.

3. Hum Hum waterfall
People don’t want to believe that a waterfall is located in Sreemangal. People believe beautiful waterfalls are located in Bandarban, Rangamati, Khagrachari, and Chittagong. Yes, you are right maximum number of waterfalls in Bangladesh are located in those parts but there is always an exceptional in everything. So do the Hum Hum waterfall, the charming waterfall at Islampur in Sreemangal. Located very close to India’s Tripura state, even tourists can see a few villages of Tripura. To see this waterfall tourists have to trek for about 2-3 hours and on the way tourists overcome a few hills. The adventure tourists are seeking, can have from this waterfall in Sreemangl.
4. Madhabpur Lake
Madhabpur Lake is a park of Madhabpur Tea Estate, it is made to help tea plantations. But now, the is not only help in tea plantations as well as the lake helps to please tourists and travelers. The lake around the tea gardens creates a tranquil atmosphere. Because of its tranquil nature, tourists love to spend their time by the side of the lake. I enjoy hanging out by the lake where there’s a slight breeze. Look at the picture, my friends Adel, Ibrahim, Sakib, and I enjoyed such a place in the Madhubpur Lake. On your last day on the Sreemangal trip, we spend the full afternoon here and return home.
5. Lasuban Gorge/ Nahar Gorge
Lasuban Gorge fits with Bandarban but unexpectedly it is located in Sreemangal. The most favorite trekking trails of Sreemangal. Although it is the most favorite it is so unknown to Bangladesh. So far I know, only a few people hardcore travel enthusiasts like me know the place and visit. As for its features; at the beginning, it seems a normal streamy trekking trail, then suddenly you discover yourself on the foot covered by rocks, sometimes the path becomes so narrow that you can touch them just by spreading your arms wide, and sometimes it feels you like you are entering in a cave. Totally an adventurous coded natural place for travel enthusiasts.

6. Shitesh Babu's Zoo
Built on a private initiative on 1.80 acres of land, approximately one kilometer from Sreemangal town, is Shitesh Babu’s Zoo. Although it is built on a private initiative, hundreds of species of wild animals can be seen here. The best thing about this zoo is that rare species of wild animals can be seen here. The biggest attraction of this zoo is two big black bears and different species of wild cats. I feel ashamed to say that I am a zoology student myself; there are so many bird species here, most of which I do not know. Tourists can visit this zoo by purchasing a ticket at 25 BDT.

7. Nirala Khashia Punji
So far I know, that the Maximum Khasi community lives in Meghalaya India and the Khasi Hills region is their traditional homeland. But here in Bangladesh, a significant number of Khasi people live in Sylhet, and Nirala Khashia Punji of Sreemangal is one of the big Khasi community villages. The religion of traveling is to go to new places, meet new people, and experience the world in a new way.
8. Baikka beel
Baikka Beel is a Permanent Wetland Sanctuary that is meant to protect Birds and fishes. As well as it fulfills the tourist’s needs. To be honest, I never visited it but the reviews I got about these Beel from my friend are quite good. That’s why I added it to the Sreemangal tourist spot list and it is also just a 30-40-minute drive from Srimangal.
