Top 10 tourist places in Sylhet
Sylhet is just not a major city in Bangladesh but also a city of beauty that holds some unmatched natural spots on the the planet. It is always getting hard when we come to talk about the Sylhet attraction because this majestic city holds a lot of places to visit. As the owner of this travel blog and a travel-loving person, I chose 10 spots in Sylhet. In my opinion, these places are best to represent the evergreen beauty of Sylhet. You can have faith in my list, after all, I have visited Sylhet 4 times and explored all the attractive places there. Let’s drive on my list.
1. Khadimnagar National Park:
The park forms a combination of hills, natural forests, and tea gardens. It is one of the major natural reserves of Bangladesh, which is the habitat of 300+ different species of plant, 2 or 3 types of amphibia, 20+ different types of reptiles, 22+ bird species, and 25+ different species of mammals. For tourists and travelers, the park offers two treks with many obstacle courses like ropes and zipline. The park covers a land area of 1763 acres. So it’s pretty big enough that will need at least 7 to 8 hours to uncover fully. Since it is a natural place, the mind will feel good there. The most amazing aspect of the spot is it is only 15 km away from Sylhet train station.
2. Ratargul swamp forest:
To inform you that on our planet there are 22 freshwater swamp forests and Ratargul is one of them. We Bengalis are even more lucky to have this swamp forest in the Sylhet. Swamp forests are unique and rare. So the natural beauty of Ratargul swamp forest is also unique and rare. In monsoon, its beauty reaches its peak point then no one can’t describe its beauty with words. Now you know it is rare and beautiful in monsoon, just make sure you visit it. Be aware of tree snakes during your visit.
3. Hakaluki Haor:
Biggest Haor of my country. So, there is no arguing why it is one of my Top 10 tourist places in Sylhet. This information is enough for you to visit Hakaluki Haor, Everyone wants to see the biggest things. Apart from this half of our aquatic plant species are in Hakaluki Haor. And it’s a great habitat for birds and fishes. In the colder time of the year season, numerous transient birds come to the waterbody. That time Haor looks magical, even in monsoon few migratory birds can be seen. So, Govt declared it as an Ecological Critical Area. In recent years it has faced many problems like pollution, overfishing, and killing birds any more that greatly damage its ecosystem. As a traveler or tourist, sure to visit it but don’t do anything that hampers the ecosystem.
4. Jaflong:
Many people’s reason for coming to Sylhet is the Jaflong. It’s an incredible spot at the foothills of Meghalaya; Mountains, waterfalls, forests, tea gardens, stones, and the Dawki River all of these are in one place. And the place becomes magically attractive. It would have been better if there were no barriers at the border between India and Bangladesh.
5. Kala Pahar:
The highest point of Sylhet and also the best trekking spot Syhelt ever has. The environment of this place is quite wild and often wild elephants can be seen here. Don’t worry, till now there has been no report of wild elephants attacking tourists here. So feel free to trek here. I already did it twice. And you are out to find beauty Sylhet, you have to do some trekking. Otherwise, it will stay as your lifelong regret.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
6. Bholagong (Sada pathor):
A shallow river with very cold water. Its two sides are formed by banks of many stones, most of the stones are white. And mountains of Meghalaya. All this can be seen here and people flock here to see it.
7. Tamabil area:
It is not a village, it’s a rural part of Bangladesh. But the beautiful rural part of Bangladesh. Here you will find both reasons to visit India and ways to visit India. Because the hills of Meghalaya can be seen very clearly from here, I mean you will be mesmerized by the beauty of Meghalaya. Then what! Surely you will want to visit Meghalaya now? There is Tamabil Land Port, and from there you can enter India. Of course, a Passport and travel Visa are needed.
8. Bichnakandi:
Similar to Jaflong. So no need to talk about its natural beauty. This place’s stones are bigger than Jaflong and Bholagong. Especially the stones underwater. You will feel like a bed when you get into the water and lie down on one of the big stones. During my visit, I exactly felt the same vibe when I lay on a big stone. I feel the name Bichnakandi came from Bichna(Bichna means bed).
9. Lala khal :
Becoming a top dog as a tourist spot and in winter it is a must-visit spot in Sylhet. Tourists come here to see the water. Yes brother, just to see the water. Because the watercolor is blue-turquoise hue it looks extremely stunning in there.
10. Dibir Haor:
From November to February, Dibir Haor is a heaven of red lilies, which is why the Haor is also known as “Lal Shaplar Bil.” Just imagine, a waterbody with an enormous quantity of water lilies and the mountains of Meghalaya stand far away. Don’t water lilies and the mountain make a beautiful scenario? Your job is to appear in front of the Haor early in the morning. Also, there is a history between a Jaint King and the Haor. I leave the history to you to uncover.
Tips: Winter and monsoon season is the finest time to travel above places. Now make your plan of the Sylhet tour wisely.
