Tourist places in Chittagong
The second-largest city in my nation is Chittagong, also known as Chattogram. In addition, it is my nation’s largest and most important port city. Therefore, the city is a huge asset to the economy of my nation. Additionally, it is a huge advantage for travel and tourism in my nation. So many natural spots are here to please tourists and travelers. And where is traveling interest there is I am. So, my friend, get your bag ready and I am making a list ready for you. Okay? That’s a deal.
1. Guliakhali Sea Beach:
In a short time, this beach gained the attention of tourists. It is just 5 km long but it has a unique appearance than any other beach. There, anyone can the sea beach but the beach is like a huge green carpet with numerous tiny internal connecting canals and a few Scattered mangrove trees. At tide, those tiny canals fill up with seawater and make it an aesthetically charming sea beach in Bangladesh. Isn’t it unique? At the time of the monsoon, this unique character makes the beach unparalleled. There was a time when I was very sad thinking about this beach that our Govt hadn’t done anything to protect this unique beach. But luckily on January 10, 2022, this beach was declared as a reserved area for travel and tourism.
2. Chandranath Hill:
It is the Mount Everest of Chittagong district [350 meters above sea level] and a holy place for Hindu religious people. At the top of the hill, a temple called Chandranath temple has been situated for about 800 years. This temple holds a rich history and great influence on the Hindhu people. So the hill became known as the name of the temple. From the top of the hill, you can see some parts of Chittagong city, the sea, and panoramic views of the surrounding areas. Just invest 1-2 hours of your time to conquer the Holy Hill.
3. Patenga Sea Beach:
It’s like a sea beach of modern times. Always busy but interesting. Being busy is a special feature of this place. The sea is lined with numerous ships, boats, and speedboats which is a beautiful sight to behold. In the past, due to storm damage, the shore of this beach was greatly hampered many times, so a road-type wall was built around the shore. And the beach is lined with numerous concrete blocks. All of these make it different from other beaches and very pleasant to see it.
Bonus: There are two more lovable sea beaches in the Chattogram; Bansbharia and Parki Sea Beach. These two beaches are as famous as the Guliakhali and Patenga sea beaches. May be a little bit less famous than them. Whatever, if you have time in hand at Chattogram trip, then you should go there and hunt their beauties.
4. Sitakunda Eco Park & Botanical Garden:
Yes, it’s pretty, quiet, and full of trees but tourists are only here to see the two waterfalls: Sohosrodhara Waterfall and Suptadhara Waterfall. I alaws say, the waterfalls are made of natural beauty that nothing can be compared with. But I want my tourist fans to keep some time on their hands to explore the park a little bit more. I am sure you will find many interests in the park, if not then your botanical knowledge will be enriched at least.
5. Napittachhara trail:
A well-liked hiking location in the Chittagong district that is appropriate for hikers of all skill levels. Yes, it’s a bit difficult but comfortable too. One has to find four different waterfalls which are lost in the green. Every waterfall in this trail will refresh you. However, this trail takes quite a long time to complete the hiking. So my friends keep some time on your hands to enjoy the Napittachhara trail.
6. Mohamaya Lake:
It’s a piece of heaven in Chittagong’s Mirsarai where you will find the sweet union between mountains and fresh water. Here you can see the beautiful curves around the mountain and there is a real joy in camping overnight on the shores of this lake to take a break from the busy life. Enjoy the mountains and vast expanses of water more and more by kayaking or boating on the water. Also, around this lake, you will find a fountain, a khum way, and a place like a cave. For sure these things will give you a thrilling vibe. The surrounding view of this lake is just mesmerizing.
7. Khoiyachora waterfall:
One of the most explored waterfalls by tourists not only in the Chittagong district but also in the whole of Bangladesh. Easy to access, mesmerizing, and the most special feature of this waterfall is its multiple tiers, which cascade down a series of steps. However, this characteristic also makes it very risky. While enjoying or taking a shower in the waterfall at a higher tier, somehow you slip and fall, then you will fall so fast and get hit very hard at every tier which is enough to take your life. My friends, keep it in mind and enjoy the Khoiyachora waterfall fullest.
8. Sonaichari trail:
What is called terribly beautiful, this trail is exactly that one. On one hand, wild slippery streams, big rocks, steep hills, dangerous gorges, and a khum full of bats must be crossed. On the other hand, these are completely different in terms of their beauty. Its rugged path will test your strength and courage. The level of adventuring will only increase with every step. At the end of the trail, a cute waterfall called Sonaichari will be waiting to welcome you. Within 4 to 5 hours, one can win over this hard trek.
9. Foy's Lake:
The good side of this lake is that it is located in Chittagong city and the best thing is that it is not only a lake, it also features an amusement park. If I go there, first I will surely enjoy various rides at the amusement park and then I will rent a boat and explore the entire lake leisurely.
Bonus: Vatiary Lake is another beautiful lake in the Chattogram. Again I say, if you have time on your hands, then you should visit it.
10. Sandwip Island:
One and only island of Chittagong District and an island is as always beautiful. But Sandwip Island looks like a big rural village more than an island. Farmers and fishermen make up the majority of the population, which is Muslim. They lead a very simple lifestyle. And the nature of the island is also simple. Simplicity is another version of pure beauty and admiration. For also camping and sweets, this island is a big name in the Chattogram.
11. University of Chittagong:
I didn’t add it for study purposes. I added it to my list because it is the most beautiful University I have ever seen. Probably it is the most beautiful university in Bangladesh. During my university admission time, I happened to visit there. Many students of Bangladesh dream of getting admitted here because of its natural appearance including me. Unfortunately, I failed to get admitted there but I didn’t miss the chance to explore it. So now, I want you to visit the university if you are visiting Chattogram.
